Athletic Scholarships
Lackawanna College is a Division II (Division I for Football) affiliate of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and operates under NJCAA Division I/II guidelines and rules. Most athletic teams compete as a member of the NJCAA Region XIX Conference while our Football team is a member of the Northeast Football Conference (NFC). Athletic programs includes Baseball, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Football, Golf, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Softball, Women’s Tennis, and Women’s Volleyball.
Based on these classifications, we are able to provide athletic scholarships up to the cost of tuition for recruited athletes in each athletic program. Some may allow for larger scholarship awards due to its Division I classification.
Please be aware that each individual coach is responsible for recruiting prospective players for their teams and distribute athletic scholarship funds based on their assessment of these recruited players. Upon being selected for an athletic scholarship, the Lackawanna College Athletic Department will issue a National Letter of Intent to the prospective students. Once this contract is completed, a copy will be forwarded to the Financial aid Office for inclusion in the prospects financial aid award letter.
