More About the Program

The Massage Therapy certificate program at the Lackawanna’s Lake Region Center combines comprehensive courses with clinical instruction. The program includes 720 hours of in-classroom instruction and 96 hours of a supervised, hands-on clinical externship at the Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley.

After completing the six-month program, students will be able to perform a variety of manual massage techniques.

The Course Work

Students will be instructed in anatomy and physiology, pathology, allied modalities, massage I theory, massage II research, kinesiology, therapeutic medical massage/sports massage, hydrotherapy/aromatherapy, Swedish massage, and business ethics and law.

Classes are held Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Upon completion of the massage therapy program, students will be prepared to take the MBLEx (Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam) offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Board (FSMTB).

MBLEx pass rate 100% for two years from 2020 to 2022.
